Previous to putting in an implant for any of my patients, I take time to survey the healthiness of their mouth and gums. It's vital that they be in good shape. I have to take care of them if they aren't healthy before we can put in that dental implant. Downtown Vancouver dentist Fotolia_7158616_XS.jpg

If there are only bleeding gums, then we can solve the problem with a pill or two. On the other hand, if your gums have decayed, or if you have damaged jowls, then it may be necessary to do some more work before putting in the implants.

Bones or bone prosthetics are sometimes used to render the place where you will receive the Downtown Vancouver dental implant root all set to receive it. It is vital to make the foundation secure when patients entrust me with setting an implant. It's similar to what you do when you want to build a house. We have to make sure that the foundations are strong and won't disintegrate over time.

As soon as the jaw is set, it's time to surgically attach the implant roots. Here in my Downtown Vancouver implant dentistry center, I am more careful than ever during this stage. The success of this phase will tell if the dental implant will remain in place for any period of time.

After we're finished, I have my patients come back periodically, with the purpose of determining whether or not the jawbone and tissues are accepting the implant as expected. I can do x-rays, resonance frequency analysis, or just old-fashioned palpation to see if the implant is firmly rooted. These tests will tell us if we will proceed to the next phase in which we affix the crown or if it will take some more time to shore up the base.

At my Downtown Vancouver dental implant office, you'll get the benefit of my carefulness the whole time. I want to know that the work I furnish and what you have will last for a long, long time.
