Downtown Vancouver Veneers Hide Flaws
Teeth are subjected to many forces during daily life. However, frequently it is the simple things that cause problems. Beverages that have a lot of caffeine such as coffee and tea could yellow your teeth. Brushing does not clear it up. Some people try to buy whitening agents but that won't be able to take away the yellow color completely. Your dentist would be tempted to suggest a set of veneers — also referred to as porcelain veneers.
Veneers not only hide teeth that are crooked. Instead of braces, many dentists use veneers if the situation calls for it. The awkward spaces between teeth can also be closed using veneers. Finally, veneers are able to modify your teeth in terms of cosmetic dentistry. We have two categories of Downtown Vancouver dental veneers. One is contact-lens-thin and the other is a more conventional veneer. Depending on your requirements we can use either one so you are fitted with the kind of veneer that you require.
Veneers are placed over your teeth to cover flaws. But it also involves much preparation work. First, we have to file away some original tooth matter to match the shape of the veneers that we are going to put on. Some gum may also have to be removed to lessen the effect of a "gummy" smile. We devote much care into preparing your teeth. The Downtown Vancouver dentist would never shave off more original tooth material than necessary. Your original teeth will retain their natural strength and firmness. Also, you can have the Downtown Vancouver veneers removed whenever you want.
To complete your veneer treatment, you need to make at least two visits to the dentist. First of all, we need to look at the size and shape of your teeth. Then the teeth are prepared and some provisional veneers are made for you. You are given a chance to test them out for yourself and have a say in what they look like in terms of color, shape and size. The details are then given to the lab team whose job it is to construct your permanent veneers. Sometime later, you will be invited for another appointment in order to install your proper, permanent veneers.
It is quite amazing what some dentists tell me. They say that some patients hate to smile. They would only smile after they have had some veneers put on. It is hard for non-dentists to understand that many people don't smile because of their teeth. With a set of veneers, their personality changes and they become much more extroverted and confident. All barriers to a glistening smile are taken down.
